2020 Planting Begins

Isbell Farms has begun planting the 2020 Crop. The weather hasn’t been great, but we are getting an earlier start than 2019. Hopefully we can make more progress soon. Here area couple of videos of different planting methods we use.

Here is a closer view of the drill as it passes by. You should be able to see the mechanism that slices open the soil and places the rice in the ground. Do you have any questions about this machine?

When there has been a lot of rain and it is too wet to get into the field, sometimes we use a method known as water seeding where we fly the seed onto the fields with a crop duster. Wonder how fast it is going? Certainly faster than the tractor. There are trade offs using this method, but one of the pluses is getting to watch the airplane.
